The beach is 2 miles long and completely smooth. Plenty to snorkel. You have beach chairs, towels, paddle boards, and snorkel gear provided. The property is also within 10 minutes of many other great beaches (Twin Coves, Cocodimama, etc)
The house itself is very nice. Good kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, etc.
The host is super responsive and has great local recommendations. We went to Buccaneer Club, DaPerk, the Front Porch, Hearty Mow’s Farmstand (amazing smoothies), and the Friday Night Fish Fry (community party in Gov. Harbor). We also cooked our own fish from the fish market using the BBQ Grill on property.
It’s an incredible spot for someone wanting to adventure all over Eleuthera or just enjoy the amazing beach just outside your window

The view from the deck was otherworldly and the sound of the waves so relaxing. The beach is just down a set of stairs and we had it all to ourselves. The host sent messages in the morning about what to do that day and made recommendations for places to eat. A great location made even better with an active host.

We were looking for a place for some rest and relaxation and Cayo Loco did not disappoint. The view was the highlight of the entire stay. Absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to the sunset over the ocean and falling asleep to the cool breeze and sound of the waves was remarkable. And we couldn’t get over the colors of the water and the pristine sandy beach. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and the host thought of everything. Be sure to read the house manual before you go. It was so helpful in preparing for our stay. We rented a vehicle from Jeremy and Anna but once we got to the cottage we found that we didn’t want to leave. We bought groceries in town at Burrows and ate at Pascals and The Buccaneer Club a few times. The host communicated during our stay and gave lots of recommendations about the happenings on the island while we were there. My only regret is that we didn’t book a longer visit. If you want a quiet, quaint, and hassle free vacation you should book Cayo Loco.

The perfect space for a few nights in Eleuthera. Semi-private beach (we barely saw anyone), comfortable interior, gorgeous landscaping. Communication was excellent — if anything, I had set aside time to read the voluminous notes full of great suggestions and tips. One tip I wish I’d acted on: take Claritin a few in advance if you tend to have bad reactions/swelling from mosquitoes and the like. The no-see-ums are no joke, so come prepared. Overall, we had a great time, and highly recommend Cayo Loco!

First time travelers to Eleuthera- the property/hosts exceeded our expectations!! We stayed for 4 nights. If you want private, secluded, beautiful setting with an unbeatable white powdered beach, this is for you!! The property has a few bungalows on the property- we chose oceanfront ( highly recommend). Each is private from the other units. The bungalow has fantastic view of the ocean and the surrounding plants and foliage. Upon walking up the stairs to the unit, there is a nice outdoor shower. The outdoor porch has a very large lounger that we spent a lot of time on enjoying the view and relaxing, but beware of the noseeums so use bugspray. Inside, there is everything you need, even a storage area. The access to the ocean is just down some steps out front of your unit, and you have your own private beach loungers and cooler and towels provided. We saw only a few people walking. It was very hard to leave and could’ve stayed our entire visit here! Would LOVE to stay here again!

This place is phenomenal!!! It is simple and beautiful and has million dollar views. Sitting on the front porch and staring out into to ocean never got old! It’s breathtaking. This is was the perfect easy, quiet, and laid back anniversary trip for my husband and me!

I don’t know where to begin- it was so beautiful and the hosts have really thought of everything. The bungalow is beautifully appointed and well stocked with anything you could need. Our hosts spoiled us with a welcome bottle of bubbly, some pineapple tarts and later in the week some fresh fruit. The view is spectacular and we loved having the beach to ourselves. We headed down to Pascals to swim a few times- drinks and food are great. We went snorkeling in Twin Coves and explored Cathedral Cave and Cape Eleuthera. Go see the Glass Window Bridge. Every one of the hosts suggestions- things to do, where to eat, where to shop, rental vehicle-everything was wonderful! Definitely enjoyed having Jeremy and Anna come to Cayo Loco and cook us dinner- absolutely delicious! Start to finish a vacation at Cayo Loco is a dream.

Incredible place! One of the best beaches we experienced, and we loved watching the sunrise every morning from the porch. Our host was very helpful and responsive, the kitchen and house had everything we needed, the bed was super comfortable, and the views and swimming were spectacular! Our stay at Cayo Loco was truly an exceptional experience! If you are looking for a sign that you should book your stay, let this be your sign. My husband and I both agree that this was our favorite beach. Ever.
The beach is covered extensively by other reviews so I’ll just add that it is as magical as the reviews explain and essentially private. There were days that I walked miles without seeing another person.
I do not think you will find a better host. Maureen provide fantastic local recommendations before our arrival, included thorough recommendations and details in the unit information binder, timely local recommendations during our visit, and even helped us sort some late night logistics leading up to our visit. Every recommendation was spot on including the Jeep rental from Jeremy and Anna. (As an aside, Anna’s book is beautiful.)
We stayed for a month and Cayo Loco included everything we needed for a longer term stay. The design and layout of the unit was obviously put together quite thoughtfully. The space was well decorated but still with room on shelves for personal items. The textiles are lovely (down to the beach towels) and including one of a kind handmade quilts. Cayo Loco included all of the details you need in a place to live without feeling like you are living in someones else’s home. We had plenty of room in the closet for our items and plenty of room to store luggage out of sight during the month. The unit included yoga mats, beach chairs for day trips, a blender, a teapot, a coffee maker, Tupperware, beach bags, silpmat, water bottles, a dishwasher, full length mirror, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and dish soap. The lights are on dimmers. There is a ceiling fan in each room including the bathroom.
The internet was reliable enough to work onsite including regular video/audio calls. Power outages were very brief and primarily at night. In the month we were here there were no power outages during working hours.
We enjoyed a lovely ocean breeze through the house at almost all times and did not use the air conditioner units. The outdoor shower is killer. Cayo Loco includes a great foot wash set up so you don’t have to deal with sand in the unit. The landscaping is also so well planned that even though the two Cayo Loco units are near each other, it feels private.

Stepping up to this idealic beach front cottage was like a waking dream where the shades of blues, violet sky and pink powder sands laid the canvas for a week full of easy relaxation. The cottage had everything we needed with thoughtful touches including luxurious white robes, triple purified water and all the cooking supplies for two foodies who joyfully made breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. We could walk in either direction on what is practically a private beach. A gorgeous healthy reef is right off shore and we snorkeled out saying hello to elegant sea fans, brilliant yellow fish, sea turtles and buoyant aquamarine waters. Maureen is a generous and respectful host, welcoming us with all the details and recommendations we needed to be completely comfortable. The coupling of her smart and kind way of being with the absolute thoroughness made it easy to commit to return next winter.

Everything in all of the reviews/pictures is accurate – this place is a little piece of paradise! Very remote and relaxing. Gorgeous water and beach. Best part of the experience was sitting on the porch at the cottage, enjoying the view/breeze, and cooking dinner at the house after picking up fresh fish at the dock (they’ll filet it for you right there!) Highly recommend you go to the Fresh Market for groceries on your layover in Nassau. For food we recommend the Sweet Cravings bakery in James Cistern (for pretty much anything!), Tippy’s, and Bougainvillea. Very gracious and friendly hosts who will give you recommendations for anything you need. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Cayo Loco is a magical slice of paradise! We had a wonderful stay – clean, cozy, with everything you need to be comfortable while away from home. Beautiful beach, crystal clear water, lovely hosts – what more could you ask for! Highly recommend and we be returning for sure!! Tip – listen to Maureen suggestions – she knows her stuff! Everything from car rental to food. One of our favorite parts was having Jeremy and Anna come cook for us our first night – they are sweet, knowledgeable, and make you a TON of food! My husband and I stayed at Cayo Loco for a total of 5 days. My only regret is that I wished we would have booked for a longer stay. This place is absolutely beautiful! The view of the beach from the RBNB is absolutely stunning. You won’t find anything like this place. Staying at this RBNB is basically having access to your own private Caribbean beach. If you see 4-5 tourists on the beach that day, it is a busy day! My husband and I have visited lots of beaches in the Caribbean and it is one of the nicest one that we have ever seen.

The outdoor shower was wonderful! We never turned on TV, listened to radio, or barely picked up our phones except to capture photos of the abundant wildlife and our beautiful surroundings. Each day brought new adventures for my husband and I.
We visited many beaches, snorkeled, dined on the local fare, and in the evenings relaxed on the porch and dozed to the sound of the waves on the beach just steps below us.
Sea life was abundant. While snorkeling we encountered many tropical fish, sea turtles, stingrays and even a small shark.
The people of Eleuthera were so friendly and welcoming which added to our amazing experience. We’re already thinking about our next trip back!

What a fabulous place to relax and play in the sun! Cayo Loco was absolutely beautiful. The beach house was well appointed and stocked with everything needed for a relaxing week. The fresh coconut and champagne upon arrival were appreciated. Our caretakers were always responsive and helpful with great suggestions. The house manual was filled with excellent tips. We walked to Pascals and enjoyed their pool and menu and went to the local fish fry as well as visiting restaurants like Tippy’s and Buccaneers. The kitchen made it a breeze to keep our leftovers and create new meals. The lapping of the waves was mesmerizing and conducive to napping and restful nights. Getting to the property involved several gates but the instructions were spot on. Cayo Loco is a perfect spot for a relaxing time on a wonderful island.

This is a superb choice. Look no where else. Actually, I liked this beach (I think it’s called Hut Point) which is only accessible from residences and Pascals. Woke up early each morning to meditate with the sunrise from the deck. Often I was the only person on this beach; when not, it was just a few others well spaced.

Cayo Loco is a great escape! If you are looking for somewhere to escape the crowds and resorts, Cayo Loco is the place for you! Everything is as described in the listing! The beach is breathtaking and the palapa’s and chairs on the beach were great! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need and we really enjoyed the restaurant at the French Leave, right down the road.
Rent a car and explore the island! The owners are full of great tips! Ask them about where to find the sea turtles! Watching the turtles from the beach was a highlight!

The pictures don’t do this cottage/location justice as the views are amazing – just palm trees and other vegetation with the beautiful tourmaline water and pink sand beach – a handful of people seen over a 3 days stay makes you feel like you are the first to discover this beautiful place.
We spent hours on the covered front porch enjoying the views and eating meals outside. Kayaks and surfboards are available with the rental – we kayaked off the beach and saw all kinds of marine life.

Cayo Loco has turned out to be our absolute favorite beach vacation rental. The cottage is super private on probably the most beautiful beach in Eleuthera. Super secluded and you are basically the only person on the beach. The cottage is the cutest, super clean, and airy. We loved going to sleep to the sound of the ocean with the windows open and waking up to the sunrise over the water. The host was very communicative and offered so many great suggestions while visiting. Eletherua is full of so many nice and welcoming locals, we felt right at home. This beautiful rental with a private beach on this gorgeous small island is definitely the way to visit the Bahamas. We will be back for sure!

Bed and couch could have been more comfortable. but ceiling fans and air conditioning were really nice. spray your window sreens with bug spray!!!!! don’t underestimate the bugs here! upu can’t see them. Difficulty getting there in the dark but owners instructions were very detailed. overall an awesome place!

Our stay at Cayo Loco was incredible. The property and beach is as advertised. Maureen and Alan were great hosts and very responsive. I was skeptical about not needing to use the AC but the breeze was enough to keep it cool at night with all the windows open. The beach is amazing and I don’t think we crossed paths with anyone on the beach during our entire stay. Take advantage of Maureen’s suggestions and book what you can through Jeremy and Anna, it makes life easy. Definitely book Jeremy and Anna for the private dinner early in your trip. It seems expensive at first but it’s enough food for multiple meals and was easily the best dinner and best value of anything we had on the island. We also did a fishing/snorkel trip with Jeremy, he took us to a local restaurant after that cooked our catch, it was a highlight. Cant recommend Cayo Loco enough. We’ll be back.

We were looking for a place that was very private with our own beach, yet close to restaurants and stores for when we wanted to venture out. Cayo Loco nailed it!!!! A lovely cottage with everything you need yet very simple. The ocean view never got old nor did falling asleep to the sound of the surf. The water was beautiful and I enjoyed it daily. If you are looking to recharge in a private setting look no further.

Well, we wondered if the reality of Cayo Loco would pale in comparison to the elevated expectations we had developed from reading descriptions of the place. It didn’t!
The place is magical. We were looking for the pristine, wild beauty of a mostly unpopulated tropical beach bordered by azure waters and coral reef. And that’s exactly what we got. We were looking to be on retreat – alone and suspended in time and in place. And that’s exactly what happened. The peace and solitude of the property is profound.
But should you want to connect with the local community you can. Just a short walk up the beach is a cozy little resort where you can chat up the bartender and get some delicious Conch salad. And then there’s the hosts. Both wonderful people – expressive, warm and accessible. Very thoughtful about every aspect of the experience they’ve prepared for you.
Let’s just say that once you get there, each day that passes will make leaving Cayo Loco more and more difficult. After our four nights there, we felt inspired – reconnected to each other and to ourselves.

My wife and I set out to find a location that we can relax in a private area with wonderful weather, beautiful beaches, and amazing ocean front. Cayo Loco was that and so much more. It was exactly what we were looking for for our ‘babymoon.’ While there is more to do on Eleuthera than what we participated in, I did not mind one bit. We picked up some things from some of the suggestions that Maureen provided us on our way to Cayo Loco, and the only time we left our cottage was a 5 minute walk down the beach to Pascal’s for dinner (the ambiance was so/so, but the food surprised in a good way) and another night to 1648 (fantastic food right on the Caribbean…go for sunset!). We had no other reason to leave…in the 4 nights we were there, we saw MAYBE 10 people total on the beach..and we spent our entire days there. The water was beautiful. There were reefs within snorkeling distance (which the gear is provided), and the local dolphin even stopped by to say ‘Hello’! Maureen was fantastic from the start; the suggestions and recommendations were spot on, and we took her up on booking our car and dinner made in the house with Jeremy & Anna…they were a delight! There wasn’t much that we would have changed at all. Definitely bug spray is needed, but Maureen tells you that and even suggests the best ones to get! This is the perfect trip for a low key beach bum stay!

Where do we start… This was our first trip to the Bahamas and our first time staying with Cayo Loco. All I can say is that we had such a great time that it will not be our last! It has been one of the best experiences we had with both Airbnb and the island. Words cannot express how beautiful their place is. The cottage is extremely clean, well maintained, had plenty of privacy, and pictures honestly do not do justice. This is something you will have to experience in person and you will be grateful that you did. Zero regrets!
Maureen and Allen have been excellent hosts and have been super attentive during our stay. They welcomed us upon arrival like family and it is the little gestures like that which really helps shows what the island and the people that live there is all about… super friendly and truly a family island. Our hosts even left us fresh baked goods (amazing Cinnamon buns!) upon our arrival which was very thoughtful and generous of them. The beach is extremely clean and very private. Could not have asked for a better location. They are centrally located from everywhere and it made traveling extremely comfortable and easy. If I could give them more stars for this review I would definitely do so without question. We will definitely be back and we hope to make this an annual thing going forward. So thankful to meet them and letting us experience the island life the right way!

We loved staying at Cayo Loco. The pictures simply don’t do it justice. The owners Maureen and Allen (sorry if that’s spelled incorrectly!) were so hospitable and friendly. They had so many little extras on site to make the trip easy. They had decorated our bed with beautiful flowers and had a bottle of champagne for us on arrival. We also loved the bonus fruit they left for us at the house one day – very welcome after spending a day in the sun. We would DEFINITELY stay at Cayo Loco again!

We were skeptical at first choosing an Airbnb in another country but oh we were so glad we chose Cayo Loco! The pictures were beautiful but it exceeded our expectations. Maureen has put thought into everything to make our stay perfect… and that it was! I don’t think there is a more perfect location on the island! Beautiful beach right out our door with reefs full of colorful coral and fish. Our lounge chairs and shade under the thatched cabana provided all our relaxing needs. We did adventure into the blue crystal clear waters with the snorkel gear and kayaks.

Beautiful location right on the beach! Amazing ocean view from the deck made it our favorite sport. Place is just as described and very clean. We loved having a kitchen which was well equipped for cooking . We had breakfast at home and made dinner couple of times. Hosts were great – always available and willing to help with any question or request. Pool is available just a short walk down the beach. Lots of nice extras made it even more enjoyable – fresh coconut water, yoga matt. Overall great experience !!!

I highly recommend Cayo Loco. If you want a private beautiful beach getaway that is very different from the busy city of Nassau, or any other crowded public beach, this is the place for you! Everything you would ever need and more is here, the hosts are gracious beyond belief and the amenities are amazing. The accommodations are comfortable and clean, and the views are amazing. We will be coming back!
