Contract Terms, House Rules, Refunds and Cancellations

CAYO LOCO POLICIES

Cayo Loco has strict policies in place for the safety and comfort of all guests.

In consideration of the monies received and mutual promises, contained herein, the Owner of Cayo Loco, hereinafter ”Owner”, does hereby rent to the individual or individuals named in the Tenant section below, hereinafter “Tenant” the property titled Cayo Loco located four miles south of Governors Harbor Airport on Eleuthera, The Bahamas and under the following terms and conditions. Please list both names if there are two individuals.

HOUSE RULES

  • NO SMOKING
  • ADULTS ONLY (18+ years, two adults per home)
  • NO PETS
  • NO LOUD MUSIC
  • NO VISITORS
  • NO BEACH FIRES or CANDLES (Note: There is no fire department available)

Your comfort and that of other guests staying at Cayo Loco is our top priority!

  1. Responsible Adults Only
    Cayo Loco is only available to responsible adults. It is not for use by high school, college, or youth groups. Any reservation made by an adult for use by a youth group will result in loss of entry or eviction and forfeiture of all payments. The property accommodates a maximum of two people; additional guests or visitors are not permitted without prior authorization.
  2. Check-In and Check-Out
    Check-In: 4:00 PM on the arrival date
    Check-Out: 10:00 AM on the departure date (our cleaning team will arrive promptly)
  3. Pets and Service Animals
    Pets and all service animals are not permitted. Cayo Loco is not suitable for sight-impaired or physically handicapped individuals. Violation of this policy results in immediate eviction and forfeiture of all payments.
  4. Furnishings
    Cayo Loco is equipped and furnished to the Owner’s taste. All linens, towels, soaps, shampoos, paper products for the bath are adequately provided for your entire stay.  

PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

PAYMENTS

  1. Advance Payment
    The rental fee, along with a signed Rental Agreement, must be received by the Owner, or the reservation will be automatically canceled without notice. This agreement is only binding once the Owner has verified receipt of the funds. All payments must be made in U.S. dollars via bank transfer or credit card.
  2. Balance Due
    All remaining fees must be received by the Owner at least 60 days prior to arrival. For reservations made within 60 days of check-in, all fees are due immediately.
    • A $100 Cleaning Fee is mandatory.
    • Daily Maid Service is available at $50 per day.
    • Stays over 7 days require an Interim Cleaning at $100.
  3. Damage Deposit
    A $500 USD deposit is required and will be returned within 15 days of departure, minus any charges for damages, unpaid fees, or missing items. Violations of the no-smoking, adults-only, no-pet, or no-loud-music policies will result in loss of entry, forfeiture of all payments, and immediate eviction if already checked in.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

  1. All cancellations must be in writing and confirmed by the Owner. In case of cancellations, no refunds will be issued for canceled reservations. A credit will be issued for the canceled period for the amount of rental fees paid when the dates are rebooked and paid for. If the unit is not re-rented, all rents paid shall be forfeited as damages. Damage Deposits are refunded. Travel insurance is recommended.
  2. Hurricanes and Inclement Weather
    In the event of a hurricane preventing arrival, funds may be applied to a future stay, if reasonable. If evacuation is required during your stay, unused days (including the day of departure) will be credited for future use. No cash refunds will be issued.
  3. Non-Availability of Cayo Loco
    In the event that the Owner is unable to deliver Cayo Loco to Tenant under this lease agreement prior to occupancy because of fire, eminent domain, act of nature, or any other reason whatsoever, Tenant hereby agrees that Owner’s sole liability as a result of these conditions is a full credit where reasonable. Pursuant to the terms of this lease, Tenant expressly acknowledges that in no event shall Owner be held liable for any consequential or secondary damages. Owner will notify Tenant as soon as possible if Cayo Loco is not available for occupancy pursuant to this section. 
  4. Indemnity 
    The Tenant agrees to release and indemnify the Owner from and against all liability, should anyone be injured upon the premises during the term of the lease, resulting from any cause whatsoever. 

THIS CONTRACT IS NOT VALID UNLESS ACCEPTED BY THE TENANT(S).
